The Waltz – a Dance for Two

A classic dance for two - the waltz is an aristocratic tradition and the most romantic ballroom pastime. It is remarkable that this 3/4 time, turning dance has its roots in folklore. Adopted from the peasants’ whirling country dance, the waltz shocked many by its vulgarity when it first appeared at the ball. A historic event took place on November 16, 2011 in Toronto - The world premiere of the new “Romeo and Juliet” ballet was greatly anticipated by the full house audience at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
