Princess Diana’s Letters to Be Auctioned

Princess Diana’s personal letters are on sale yet again. This time it has been put up for auction by 69-year-old Margaret Hodge. All correspondence between Mrs. Hodge and Princess Diana will be up for sale by Colchester’s auctioneers Reeman Dansie later this month. Even after her wedding to Prince Charles, Diana continued to keep in touch with Mrs. Hodge, whom she had met while working in a London kindergarten. The letters and other correspondence dates from 1981 all the way up to 1986. Mrs. Hodge’s collection of royal correspondence is expected to fetch an estimated ₤20,000 ($32,850). Read more »

Marilyn Monroe’s famed Subway grate dress to earn $2million under the hammer

Right from a Kennedy to the common man, Marilyn Monroe made many a heart skip a beat with the sensuous Subway grate scene in a white dress in the movie titled “The Seven Year Itch”. And bringing back the magic under the hammer is 79-year old Debbie Reynolds who is putting 3,500 artifacts of movie memorabilia up for bids. The pleated halterneck dress designed by Travilla may not be sparkling white any more, but it does have a boning that was hand sewn to serve as an in-built bra.
