As a lovable, talented woman with nine Grammies under her belt, Sheryl Crow has undoubtedly achieved some form of tenure in the American household. Crow’s political activism to date has also been well accepted, be it for her sharp lyrics or wearing a T-shirt that read, “I Don’t Believe In Your War, Mr. Bush” during her Good Morning America performance in 2003. Her new album, 100 Miles from Memphis, however, is a decisive step away from political bearings and one that strives a musically explorative platform and is reminiscent of a relaxed mind-frame, perhaps attributable to Crow’s two young children and recent breast cancer survival.
